Shoppes at Bellemead
Shreveport, Louisiana
It's High Time for High-End Retail.
In 2003, Chico's James West, suggested that UCR Urban's Michael Nagy look into Shreveport, Louisiana as a possible market. What followed was an intense demographic analysis and a successful marketing campaign to offset the retailers' cries of 'Why Shreveport?'.
This development, the first outdoor specialty project in the Shreveport area, a town of more than 500,000 situated in northern Louisiana, quickly became the premier retail property in the region.
With the opening of the Shoppes at Bellemead came new retail in the form of Jos. A. Bank, Coldwater Creek, Cantina Laredo, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico's, White House | Black Market, Francesca's Collections and J. Jill. It was the first time in Shreveport for each of these retailers.
In addition to attracting national retailers to the Shoppes at Bellemead, UCR Urban's Michael Nagy was also able to relocate Talbots out of their existing mall store.
